Theory of web2 in the ESOL classroom

I’ll approach this project from 2 angles – the theoretical and the practical.
I could spend all day reading about the various opinions of how useful Web 2 is/can be in Education and assessing its benefits in terms of ESOL students - there is so much going on out there right now. My RSS feeder helps sift thro things but there is just so much
So firstly I’m going to go thro some of the popular web2 technologies and gain a greater understanding of what they are and what people are using them for. Then hopefully I’ll be in a position to be able to suggest suitable applications that teachers who have volunteered to give me their classes to work with think will work with the task.
As i mentioned in my e-learning blog earlier - my approach is going to be not to ask teachers to change what they teach but how the learning is recorded ( in a blog/wiki/by twittering).

So how shall I do this? Well, Mobile Technology in TAFE has published a list of the big Web2 technologies with a few comments on each one so I’ll start with that and brush up on my understanding of them. Also want to try and get through some of the feeds that have been piling up in my Google reader.
