Slideshare.net

Is this worth advertising to the teamĀ I wonder? I’ve just signed up and uploaded a presentation that I emailed to the team yesterday. It’s really easy to embed into WordPress. But I’m not sure how many teachers are using PowerPoint regularly in their classes…will investigate!

  1. I definetly think this is worth promoting -if teachers can put their “powerpoint” on line then students can access outside the classroom.

Probably the safest approach is to create in powerpoint and then upload/convert to slideshare.
This way, if the teachers is brave enough to do it fully on-line then powerpoint is “plan B” if the network/internet is down.

Still useful if the teachers sticks with local powerpoint but then can refer students to the on-line version for reference.

powerpoint/presentations are a useful communications skill too – students can create their own on-line slideshow.

ESOL students are going to be so advantaged by the PET input as they wil be more awae than any other students in the college and in most colleges about the natural resources on teh net
